Now back to who is newmedia Mike in more than 160 characters.
I’d say I have three sides to myself, like a triangle. Professional, online and personal. The line tends to blur slightly with the professional and online sides.
My nickname comes from how I used to answer the phone at Creative Post – “New media, Mike speaking”. newmediaMike has become my online brand as it reflects my professional background. I have been in and around the “new media” industry since 1994 when kiosks and CD ROMs were state of the art. I have seen the industry grow and change. I have worked in the trenches of new media for 10 years, as an account and project manager, as a video producer, a web developer and now as a Holistic Online Marketing consultant.
I blog here about social media. Today’s new media is social media. This is my take on the seismic shift in marketing thanks to social media. My views on what is going on in today’s new media.

On the personal side, I live in the Beach area of Toronto with Liz, my partner of 20 years and our two daughters the Brunette (16) and Blondie (13) {Names are concealed to avoid me getting slaughtered for using them!}. We have two dogs, Keegan a 6 year old “Fluffy” Pembroke Welsh Corgi and Grace our 6 year old rescued retired racing Greyhound.
I love camping in the summer.
I have a weakness for “Bejeweled”.
