We’ve all seen these ads on Facebook, the ones that tell us “so and so” has become a “fan” of such and such.Social Action Notification Ad on Facebook

Facebook calls this a “Social Action Notification”.  Broadcasting your social actions notifications to your friends is actually optional. You can easily turn them off to protect your privacy. In light of some recent moves by Facebook, you may want to seriously consider turning them off.

Tomorrow, Facebook will start using your photos in ads that will appear on the profile page of your contacts.

If you want to prevent this from happening, do the following:

At the top of your Facebook page locate Settings > Privacy Settings > News Feed and Wall > Facebook Ads > Choose “No one” and save changes.

This will turn off the social actions notification on Facebook .

Social Media Revolution

I came across this social media video called “Social Media Revolution” a while back and I kept meaning to post it to my blog.

Now that this is strictly a “social media blog”, I figured it was time to share this with you, that is if you haven’t seen it/are tired of seeing it!

Enjoy.
