Some people have blogrolls, my pal Chris Brogan has what he calls “Rockstars“, I’ve decided to call my list of favourite bloggers, vlogggers and podcasters the “digerati”.
Digerati? Here is the definition from Wikipedia: The digerati are the elite of the computer industry and online communities.
The word is used in several related but different ways. It can mean:
- Opinion leaders who, through their writings, promote a vision of digital technology and the Internet as a transformational element in society;
- Anyone regarded as influential within the digital technology community.
Without any further fanfare here are my digerati, NOT in any particular order:
- Chris Brogan - social media evangelist, founder of Podcamp and all round nice guy.
- Jeremiah Owyang - Web Strategist, SF Bay Area- single handedly responsible for an explosion of new twitter friends
- Seth Godin - web marketing genius
- Matthew Ingram - he gets social media
- Mark Evans - co founder of the mesh conference - another crazy Canuck who gets social media
- Sean Moffitt - word of mouth evangelist
- Mitch Joel - six pixels of separation podcast - a MUST listen
- Dave Delaney - another Canadian social media evangelist - yet residing in Nashville!
- Leesa Barnes - podcasting marketing genius and co-founder of PodcampToronto 2007
- Jay Moonah - co-founder of PodcampToronto 2008
- Bill Sweetman - our paths keep crossing - he’s been in and around new media as long as I have
- Ian Kelso - President of interactiveOntario and another longtimer whose path I keep crossing
- CC Chapman - managing the gray - and not just my hair!
- Scott McDougal - another Canadian and video pro trying to find his way through the social media maze
- Jim Long - I was newmedia Mike offline before I met newmedia Jim online
- Guy Kawasaki - truemors
- Forrest Kolb - Founder of BizzFlip a niche business classifieds site centering around entrepreneurs
- Kevin Nalts - self declared viral video genius and a hoot to watch!
- Howard Lindzon - Wall Strip and Toronto boy made good - real good
- Mike Moon - introduced me to lumiere videos
- Chris Penn - another Podcamp co-founder
- Michael Verdi-part of the team behind this awesome blog design - Show In A box
- Ryanne Hodson - another member of Team SIAB - and an original vlogger
- Jay Dedman - another vlogging pioneer and also the guy behind the lumiere site.
- Loren Feldman - love him or hate him either way the guys a f*#&ing genius in my book
