Social Media Blogs and Resources

December 17th, 2008 Posted in consulting, in the trenches, social media

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I had a very interesting day today. I sat in on an SEO/blogging/social media webinar put on by HubSpot. At first it was slow and just a refresher of stuff I practice every day. But in the end I did take away new nugget. Mike Volpe said, if you answer a question in an email, perhaps the answer could become a blog post.

Then later this afternoon, one of my new followers on Twitter @natalie_brown asked me if I could recommend any good books on Social Media.  I told her I couldn’t, but I did offer to share my links with her. So I wrote Natalie an email and it struck me that it would make for an excellent blog post.

From my bookmark folder I’d like to share these resource sites with you:

Here are my social media links from my Google Reader. A lot of these blogs are Canadian, but what can I say, I’m biased! I read these on a fairly regular basis, providing they have something I want to read of course. I highly recommend every one of these blogs as a place to learn more about social media.

But don’t just read their blogs, find these people on Twitter and follow them, read their conversations and jump in with both feet and talk to them, so far no one has bitten me!

  • Thanks Mike! I'm totally flattered to be on that list (and feel completely out of place - those are the people I look to for advice and inspiration, too)!
  • Thanks for the kind words. Glad you liked the webinar. To more experienced people they can be a bit slow, but most of our webinars target marketers and small business owners with less experience in inbound marketing.
  • Mike-- thanks for the link! Great advice from Mike Volpe, by the way-- I'm definitely stealing that for any blog training i do
  • Hi Mike! Thanks so much for the link. And I'll work on being more "personal." :-)
