Tips for new Twitter users

Dave Fleet has an excellent post today on Tips for New Twitter Users.

Some of Dave’s suggestions are to:

  1. Start slowly
  2. Follow the ‘right’ people
  3. Don’t spam
  4. Interact with others
  5. Post substantial messages
  6. Do more than just self-promote
  7. Set-up searches for relevant topics
  8. Make the most of the tools available

These are great tips not only for newbies but also a gentle nudge/reminder for old timer/power users. If I can paraphrase Chris Brogan, it’s a conversation, don’t monopolize it.
