Attempting to define Social Media

Thanks to Julia Roy for pointing out this SlideShare presentation called “What the F**k is Social Media?”

Julia and I both came away with similar thoughts, but some of the more prominent ones for me were:

“Social media is people having conversations online”
If there ever was a KISS statement that’s it. So simple, Social Media is people talking to each other online.

“It’s not a fad. It’s a fundamental shift in how we communicate.”
Absolutely. I’ve re-connected with people from my past who I never would have dreamed I’d find on Facebook.
