My older daughter, the Brunette told me about this online game she and her friends are playing. It’s called FreeRice.

There are 11 different subjects ranging from Famous Paintings to the meaning of words to World Capitals and even math questions. Every time you answer a question correctly you are donating 20 grains of rice through the UN World Food program to end hunger.

The rice is paid for by the sponsors whose names are on the bottom of the screen when you enter a correct answer. FreeRice is simply a website committed to the cause of ending hunger around the world. While it is not a registered non-profit organization, it is run entirely for free and makes no profit. All money raised by the site goes to the UN World Food Program to help feed the hungry. Sponsors make all payments to the UN World Food Program directly.

The only sponsors I could see from when I played were Unilever and Yum! Restaurants. This is a worthwhile cause and I hope other major players will get behind it.
