Unofficial Blogger Appreciation Day

Darren over at ProBlogger Blog has declared today Monday April 14 as “Unofficial Blogger Appreciation Day”. I couldn’t agree more with Darren, this is a great way to network and to show other bloggers how much we enjoy their work.

One of the first bloggers I have to tip my hat to is Chris Brogan. Chris calls fellow bloggers he follows (ahh the Twitter influence creeping into my writing) ROCKSTARS. It has been thanks to Chris that I have been introduced online to many other very capable and intelligent writer/bloggers I might not otherwise have met. So thanks Chris Brogan.

On my iGoogle page I have a number of tabs where I separate my blog reading into categories. One of these tabs is Canadian New Media. Here you will find Matthew Ingram and Mark Evans. Both write about subjects which are of great interest to me, essentially the intersection of technology and social media. We aslo tend to follow the same people on Twitter as well. Mark will also be getting a thank you in my next post about domain names.

Another blogger I want to show some appreciation to is Michael O’Connor Clarke. I heard Michael speak at last year’s ICE Conference and have been checking out his blog periodically since then. Coincidentally or maybe not so coincidentally I also follow Michael on Twitter as well.

Wrapping up my Canadian New Media tab is Howard Lindzon. Although Howard is really a financial columnist I keep him in the new media tab because of his connection with Wallstrip. Howard was one of the co-founders of Wallstrip and a very inspirational writer and all around nice guy who just happens to be an expatriate Torontonian.

For online video I always read Mike Abundo’s Inside Online Video . Mike has his fingers on the pulse of the online video world.

Finally, my day just hasn’t started until I’ve read Jeremy Schoemaker’s “Shoemoney” blog. Although I have him under my SEO tab his blog is about a lot more than just SEO.

So these are just a few of my favourites – who are yours?
