RIP digitalmedia Toronto

February 27th, 2008 Posted in Blogging, editorial, in the trenches

Well I finally did it. After weeks of waffling I finally pulled the plug on digitalmediaTORONTO.

digitalmediaTORONTO was originally to be a continuation of my desire to keep the old Visual Convergence magazine alive, but it never quite became what I thought it would be. My writing became more and more personal and as I was looking to develop a “brand” digital media Toronto just didn’t seem to fit the bill.

I am becoming known as new media Mike more and more in the offline world and to me it’s a great brand.

This blog , when I get around to updating it explores what it’s like to be an old media fogie living in a new media world. I look at the various technologies which make up new media such as video production for the web, mobile and BluRay. I also discuss a lot about Social Media, which after all is the latest new media. lately more and more of my posts have been about Search Engine Optimizing, a field in which I have had a great deal of success and I am in the process of getting more involved with.

So I have placed a re-direct on digitalmediaTORONTO. When it comes time to renew the site I will let the name lapse.
