We use Nero at creativePOST. It’s a very good robust tool. A little bloated, but we find it to be one of the best tools in our arsenal. But what if you want a lighter version that is still dependable?

MakeUseOf.com has published a list of the best 10 FREE Alternatives to Nero. Some of them I had not heard of before, but the number one, CDBurnerXP I had installed on my old machine. Now it comes with support for BluRay and HD DVD. I find the support for HD DVD a little odd since no burners were ever released for HD DVD burning.

But check out the list at MakeUseOf.com - they even include links to the download sites.
